AfterTheBreakdown and XfingTheSullen both gave this very high ratings so I'm automatically skeptical.

its easy to listen to, clean production and all. from the belakor thread i think that XfingTheSullen rates things to improve his objectivity, so a 4 or so would be automatic.

if you like the newest decapitated then you might just enjoy this one, idk

Eh super clean production doesn't really appeal to me when it comes to death metal.

Depends on the style of DM. For tech death if the production is too raw the notes can sounds kind of muddled and blend together. There is a lot going on and I think the production here suits it and helps everything stand out properly (especially dat bass)

KILL you're the biggest hypocrite. You think all modern tech death sounds the same yet your favorite genre is 80s thrash. Practically all subgenres of metal sound the same to an extent. Its just a matter of taste.

Im not a big fan of tech death either, but this just caught my ear when I heard it. Im a sucker for audible bass (WORD UP KORN) and some melody in my metal. Plus the Youtube comments said Infidelamsterdam supposedly loves this album lol. The most metal dood breathing air today.

I'd say both are about equally important to me. If the riffs and solos are really great I can overlook a horrible/sterile production but most of the time I prefer my death metal underproduced as opposed to overproduced. If the shit is too clean it really takes away the edge and can ruin it for me.
