Trance is one of the most commonly fucked up genres of all time, so many stale albums out there... its insane. However these guys do it perfectly and with pure class/ artistry.

well it's more of a hypothesis through deductive reasoning, but I'm pretty sure Deviant is the main reason my pie chart is clogged up with an "electronic" slice instead of something actually descriptive

i dont remember that super well but i think back in the day there were very few electronic subgenres available... and he was the only staff that gave a shit about this stuff

that's true, I guess I figured all the existing genre tags got wiped when the new ones were implemented. for instance there was a tag that was just "progressive" on its own, which doesn't exist now

yeah dev is a top chap, also the reason we have electronic subgenre tags at all. I'm just really nitpicky about plain electronic as a tag, probably irrationally so. The way I see it, it's no more effective than throwing a "metal" tag on Gorguts. (also don't get me started on the numbskulls tagging shit like Timeghoul and Necrophagist as prog metal)
