I agree with your review. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and this shows they can sound like 'Scar Symmetry' without Christian. DMD was alright to say the least, i enjoyed a few songs off of it and "Mechanical Soul Cybernetics" is amazing.

I agree with reviewer Pitch Black Progress is their best album. I love every one of those songs.

Holographic Universe was the only full album I've heard by them and it's a 3.5 at the most. What I've heard from Pitch Black Progress indicates that it would also be a 3.5, possibly a 4 at the most. They have some good stuff, but it's nothing mindblowing. But without Christian this band will never be anything more than mediocre.

Let's leave Mediocrity for Mors Principium Est, Omnium Gatherum and Soilwork. This band even if it's mediocre in its own right is still better in every respect than most others, and this album did nothing to rid me of this conviction 
PS Stop hatin' on the singers, bro. Lars sounds fucking amazing here.

Crysis. I am not surprised by your rating for this album, but you're losing credibility by rating an album that good that low. I understand that Scar Symmetry's music has been leaving you jaded etc, but in that case each next album will get lesser and lesser ratings from you - which doesn't mean they progressively get worse.

I think that 4.5 & 5 scores are reserved for masterpieces. Nothing Scar Symmetry has released has reached that status. HU, PBP, & SiD deserve a 4 score maximum. However, I can agree that this is a large step up from the mess that was DMD. But yeah, I don't think the album deserves something as low as 2 which implies that the album is almost unlistenable.
