Dude my dad is like this and he was a SoCal punk, I think it’s a mix of not liking the slower and “artsy” direction they took and being a hipster. Like Keith was a cool guy but the one record he did with them, dude just sounded like a drunk high schooler. And Ron just fucking sucked. Dez I can kind of get why some would prefer as he was basically a less try hard Henry Rollins, but Rollins just had a unique presence to the music man
