The book is indeed great for the most part, movie is a mixed bag of great performances, music, and some nice visuals, but the tone is all over the place.
Some of the afterlife scenes are laughable too, like in the second half of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0ZMKFNTQ2Q
Then on the other hand, there're great scenes like these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfL4U_bOGvc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OVbL18oOwU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKj1vfHB2i0

I just watched the scene where Susie goes through George's house and sees all of his past victims and I am in shambles.

There's still too many issues I have with the movie adaptation to where I can't consider it good. It's still sad as hell though.

Damn. Daddy Dewi comes through yet again. This is pretty incredible. Need another listen to settle on a definitive rating but the first play through was bliss.

This is lovely. Doesn't have anything quite as spellbinding as the best stretch on Ambient 1, but damn what a great record
