I'm only at about the 70GB mark and I have a 120GB classic so I still have a ways to go.

I have a 160gb iPod and that only holds half my collection

Damn! I have 120gigs of music, but I'm close enough to 160 that I delete things pretty regularly -- especially since I get quite a few promos that I intend on reviewing (and don't always get a chance).

Wait, I just checked my hard drive and I have 240gb of music, so it holds more than half, but yeah FML

excellent, kyle.
This album has been getting some buzz around various metal sites, but I've never been a huge fan of their contemporaries, so I decided to skip it. Looks like I made the right choice.

This feels like it has more direction and focus than their debut, but really adds nothing new to the table. It's still pretty good, just not enough new ideas.
Carrier of Echoes is the best track on here.

good review, completely agree

Yeah I typically clean out my iTunes once every year or so, but when I do clean it I end up getting rid of a lot of shit. That and my stubbornness to keep within metal might explain my relatively (at least in comparison to some others here) conservative iTunes collection.
Thanks Jared, Noctus and Xeno. I noticed as well that other sites were praising this pretty highly but I don't fully understand why.
Carrier of Echoes is the best track on here.
By far.

The clean guitar solo at about 6:00 is sublime

Sort of but you have to remember this band is not American so it has absolutely no association to the Cascadian thing, so it sounds different.altar of plagues are irish
nice review btw, album sounds pretty average so will not be rushing to check this out

My mistake, but my point still stands.

the production of this album annoys me, they plastered everything in an annoying reverb which takes the impact out of all of the instruments to me
yeah I know 'production on a black metal album' whatever but this was obviously intentional

The reverb doesn't bother me but it's plainly obvious that it's there.

it's the kind of thing I used to do with my old project which was essentially an Agalloch clone, so it kind of makes me a bit sick to the stomach
i think my music is still up actually, i should check, gosh that would be nostalgic.
ouch it's still there ;; idk if I should link it, i mean for recordings I made when I was 15 it's not bad at all but still :T

Nice work. I think I'll skip on this, but great review regardless.

Excellent review. I have a thing for these guys so I will be checking out when I can.

Nicely done Crysis, Pos'd

Album Rating: 3.5
Crysis is pretty much spot-on with this review. 3.5 is definitely the correct rating for this.

Besides thinking a 3.5 was the correct rating what did you think of the album?
