also he hasn't made something original, interesting or different to his contemporaries, he is at the same league of lil boosie, 2 chainz and soulja boy.

Oh boy here it goes.

"haven't heard any single reason fo why aesop rock sucks"

his flow is terrible, he doesn't have any semblance of rhythm, he just sounds like he thinks rapping is talking really fast with a beat (apparently a shitty beat)

his lyrics are a mix of generic preacher-backpack faux intellectual fare that irritates the shit out of me.

mentioned before but his beat selection is pretty lolworthy and none of his albums are thematically coherent, they just sound like a collection of songs, which is fine for a mixtape but especially from someone touted as a "rapper's rapper" by everyone except actual rappers I'd expect a higher level.

"his lyrics are lame as hell usually"

Lil Wayne's style is very improvisational. that's not to say all his shit is off the cuff but he rarely writes it down, which means there are lots of non-sequitors and compounded metaphors, and other techniques which are easier to improvise. What is impressive to lots of wayne fans is how his lyrics manage to be deeper than they appear on the surface. For example, A Milli, where he says "my name ain't BIC but i keep that flame..." there is ambiguity as to whether he's referring to BIC lighters and a more literal idea of flame (as in hes hot) or B.I.G (as in he is keeping quality rap alive like BIG did) and this IS intentional, he purposely softens the "C" to create a double meaning. This is incredible lyricism and he used to do it ALL THE DAMN TIME.

"and most of the beats of his songs are so horrible that it sounds like is coming from a mid 00's nokia cellphone"

This is just straight up not true. You're making things up to suit your argument and it's hilariously transparent. Kanye West's beat on Comfortable, Bangladesh's A Milli and even Swizz' (pretty much stolen) Dr. Carter beat are all brilliant beats of the highest production quality. I could also point to Playin With Fire, Shoot Me Down, 3 Peat, Tie My Hands and Let the Beat Build as other examples of why you're fucking retarded.

"besides his attempt to make an album with rock instrumentation is an insult against the vallhalla of rock and roll"

and here's another piece of evidence for the "youre a retard" camp. We're talking about THIS album. Whatever else he's done, you cannot use it to defend your dislike for a completely separate part of his catalogue. Is Common a piece of shit rapper because he released the shitstain that is Universal Mind Control? of course not, but according to you this is a viable reason to dislike Be.

"his voice is awful and he's just a sellout making generic pop tunes without any sort of substance or something different."

This is also straight up not true. If you were talking about from 2011 to this year I'd agree with you, but in the context of rap in 2008 this shit was a breath of fresh air. It sold 1 million copies in a week, and I wouldnt normally use this as a basis for its quality but no one thought a million copies could sell that fast anymore, and C3 did. It managed to be a universal critical success (87 or sth on metacritic) as well as hugely popular among the general populace. and you know what? rappers liked it too. Mac Lethal constantly tries to defend lil wayne's (and especially this album's) quality to his skidmark of a fanbase, a lot of whom will only listen to rap if it's midwest and sounds like fucking atmosphere. Eminem has gone on record saying he hated Lil Wayne without listening to much of his stuff, and once he did, he immediately wanted to work with him.

"He is just making music for money, this is not art, just a low form of entretaiment made by a guy who makes rhymes

which are worse than insane clown posse rhymes. La La is laughable, phone home pisses me off and there are more

examples of why I rate this album with 1,5. There are 2 tracks which are average but that's the only credit I can give to

this work"

La La is bad, but because of Busta Rhymes. I alternatively love and hate Phone Home but I think it's pretty endearing

and another example of how he was making rap the way he wanted to make it. Even his "generic pop song" lollipop

sounds like it was recorded on fucking mars or something.

You have not given any evidence for why this is not art, and the burden of proof is on YOU to do so. Good luck with

that man.

"The participation of good rappers in collaborations doesn't mean that an album is consistent."

that wasn't his point. he was disputing your idiotic notion that these beats sound like they were made on a 00's nokia.

not surprised you didn't understand, thinking doesnt seem to be your strong suit.

oh yeah and "Aesop rock has an excellent voice" yeah his voice is the best part of his music by a long shot.

in short, you sound like a 14 yr old who's just discovered that there are other white rappers than eminem and want

desperately to communicate how superior your taste is by picking on an easy target. i'm embarrassed for you and your

hilariously badly concocted opinions.

First, your statement of the amount of sold records is pointless, second the fact some underground rappers loved this album doesn't mean that all the music community loves this album, KRS One defended soulja boy 5 years ago and that was very criticized by hip hop community , besides a lot of good artists defends shitty acts and cirticize solid bands or singers. Example, neil peart defends a shitty band like linkin park and robert plant said once that radiohead was awful, the fact that peart said that LP was good is not going to change that a vast amount of the people in rock circles have a strong dislike for that band and the fact that plant insulted radiohead doesn't mean that people in rock circles is going to hate that band . This album sold many copies just because is directed to a large population of simple minds who wants just shallow music for a party, shit like this is for fake hip hop fans , 14 year old kids with obey snapbacks, hipsters who can't tolerate their friends who listens radio rock and teenage bimbos which are superficial as fuck. Also your statement of the 87/100 on metacritic is lol bad, metacritic is based on the score of not reliable sources of information like now magazine, rolling stone, p4k, billboard, Entertainment Weekly and blender. The opinion of magazines who insulted arrested development, the doors, tool, porcupine tree, Paul Oakenfold, nine inch nails, malmsteem, skinny puppy, Emerson, Lake & Palmer and more but defends shit like lil wayne or even worse ( shit like the harlem shake or waka flocka ) is worthless.
