Insomnium are almost "these guys" now with Vanhala taking over the reins in songwriting department. Although I too like the upbeat vibe they consistently display on their records more than Insomnium mood. That's why Shadows is my fav Insomnium record, it's like 80% of that mood.

Burning Cold wasn't spectacular but it was solid, so I'm not too worried about their decline yet. Insomnium haven't really grabbed me on their last 2 albums tho.

Beyond and New World Shadows are a pair of spectacular albums. I think New World Shadows may edge it out in pleasant listening quality but Beyond is so unique I can't really say which is better at all. Then again there is nothing quite like New World Shadows either. Can't believe there were some sentiments these guys were a copy cat band. Yea it's melodeath but these guys hold a place in my heart like no other melodeath band. And looks like recordings of the new album are done. So I'm expecting an announcement some time here
