Agreed. Pretty damn pivotal album for the more experimental side of hip hop too. El-P is a legend

Been listening to this a lot lately now that it’s on Spotify and I never really *fully* listened to the lyrics on last good sleep before. shit is chilling and so sad.

Looked at his wiki and saw that it’s a real story too about hearing his step dad beat his mom to near death one night while he was in bed, and the recurring nightmares he’s had about it ever since

I feel like el-p cant carry a whole album himself. fan dam is his best solo effort for sure though
|
| |
ok bet - is this better than the cold vein?
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
good question, I would say the cold vein is better
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
now thats a tougher one to call
i might lean more towards this personally just because its one of the first 'underground' rap albums i got into
|
| |
Cold vein vs this is a tougher call and also a better comparison… cold vein is more consistent but this is the OG. They are both absolute essentials.
|
| |
Honestly el-p ranked is basically just his discog chronologically from first to last. This is best and RTJ sucks.
