Have any of you ever listened to Offa Rex? It is literally The Decemberists with an additional female lead singer released in 2017.



Just hit the second song “black leg miner” and it is quite literally just a decemberists song. I’m baffled how I have never heard of this.

I've listened to it once or twice when it came out, for some reason I remember it as a very minor album... But I should probably go back to it! From what I remember it was mostly covers of old British folk songs right?

idk.. I finished it yesterday after making that comment and tbh I didn't enjoy it very much at all. I now better understand why I had never heard of it.

I enjoy this album. I don't know jack shit about this band, other than I heard them when this came out and enjoyed them, bought a couple other albums and find them relaxing and good to listen to for people who don't love Cannibal Corpse or Fear Factory who come over for a beer.



The opening track 'Don't Carry it All' really is great, though. I honestly don't listen to the album as a whole much, but that song is one of those 'perfect pieces' to me.
