Dude, only wait till winter if you fully intend on having your first listen outdoors in the forest.
If not, just crank up the air conditioning and cover yourself in pine needles

"i was asking should i wait as people have said it suits winter well"
you dont need to wait till winter, just wait till youre in the mood for some feels. but definitely also listen to it when winter comes around cause this is the best winter album ever.

Marrow might very well become my second favorite Agalloch after this, pretty sure it's also their lightest full-length release besides this.

This is one of my all time favorite albums, for sure. Just listening to it makes me want it to be cold and snowy outside. Can't wait for winter so I can just listen to this on repeat and drink wassail.

Marrow is still 4th for me, it's good but doesn't really stand with the first 3.

I only wish that Marrow had even less extreme metal and more clean singing, like this and Ashes. The production is fantastic, and Black Lake Nidstång is one of their best songs.

agreed on your last sentence talons, disagreed on the first. i only wish ghosts was a bit filthier, now it sounds somewhat safe. and to drown is overlong but that's pretty well established by now. otherwise marrow is perfect and black lake sure is one of their best songs (if not the best)

I'm not as much into extreme metal as I was a few years ago so it's just personal preference, the album is amazing regardless of that though. And yea To Drown could be trimmed.
Ashes is a hard 5 in my book when including Scars of the Shattered Sky.

When Fall hits here in Nordic Europe, It's time to get comfy with Agalloch, Panopticon, Burzum and Summoning!

If ashes had a killer closing track even if it was just some melancholic instrumental acoustic piece or something it would be my undisputed favorite album of all time but while I dont necessarily hate the grain, its fairly underwhelming even for a drone track. Still 5 for me though, and so is this. And The white, Marrow and PF are just behind them. And we shant speak of The serpent.
