I'm friends with JP Anderson on facebook, no big deal.

Awesome shredding. Only on the second song, but I really might get this. That "Are you ready" thing at the beginning was annoying, but I think I can forgive it.

The "are you ready" is the kind of intentional cheese that they like to throw into their songs from time to time. It's what makes them unique ;)

any idea when part 3 will be up for dl from the site?

I don't think it will. From what I read, it seems that he was originally going to release the third part for free (the same way that he did the first two sections), but a record company stepped in and changed the plans. I mean, you can buy the the three tracks for $2.97 from iTunes or Amazon (I bought the whole album just to support the band, but you know, that's cause I'm cool)...

WHOA WHOA WHOA
Did The Shizit change their name?

No. It's a long story. Basically, he released that last Shizit album and then an ex member bitched (and probably threatened legal action) and so JP Anderson had to change the name of the album.
|
| |
But wasn't that album the self titled one? So if the ex had beef with the album name he must have beef with the band name too, right?

That's what he had a problem with - JP Anderson releasing an album using the Shizit name without his permission (which if you've read both sides is total bullshit IMO).
|
| |
So JP is still allowed to keep The Shizit as his band name, but now he can't even release an album under it? But if he were to change the band name, he could do whatever he wants.
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5 | Sound Off
No. Shizit albums can only be released if both parties participate (or if one agrees to let the other use the name). JP can release whatever he wants as long as he doesn't call the band The Shizit.
Which is crap because this 'second member' that's causing the issue sounds like he was more of a manager/producer than a full band member. By his own admission, his contribution to actual songwriting was minimal.
|
| |
Hmmm, so you could say this is a Shizit album? I mean, the fun factor is gone and the anger is increased, just like a Shizit album!
CASE SOLVED.

I'd dispute that statement if his longtime female vocalist was on this album. But, as it stands, this could fit under The Shizit as easily as Rabbit Junk.

Downloading now and looking forward to it. Thanks for catching me up on all the gossip/drama!

Ha ha. No problem. It's pretty damn good. Try their other ones too if you haven't.

Honestly, the last Shizit album was the best, so I'm kinda glad his "partner" left.
Also, The Revenge of Julian Modley has some pretty funny lyrics.

I know that I can't be the only one that liked her vocals on the albums.
I agree about Julian Modley's lyrics, and it's heavy as fuck with that riff and piano part. I like the Alien vibe from the song before it too.

I just read the lyrics along with the music to all three songs. It's a pretty cool story.

Oh, and I was talking about the guy that was a member of the Shizit. I do like the female vox, just when they're not overbearing.

Oh, duh. I read The Shizit but for some reason I was still thinking you were talking about Rabbit Junk. Yeah, that guy in the Shizit might have helped out in some ways in the beginning, but it seems like he might have eventually become a drag.
