I'll put this album in perspective. It's a hit and a miss. It's pretty clear what rareform lacked was consistency and was completely survived on "wow" moments. Which it did. Aspirations was amazing. But there was also no real structure. So in turn the band worked for consistent song writing with less technical work for more chug. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the album. So what I foresee in their next album since they nailed on being consistent that they might work in the more technical guitar work that so wowed us on rareform. btw vocals on this album were pretty beast.

I like this album, only problem is the overly produced vocals, waaay too many layers that are unnecessary at times. They kinda went more meshuggah-ish and not soo technical and creative as their first. This is better than rareform but i still think FAFS is their best work. Vocals are beastly though.
Oh and Exoplanet is still better just by a few miles.

I dumbed down my rating because tbh, this isn't as lovable as the reissue of Rareform. This has a few moments but nothing that really stands out. But it's still great.

Exoplanet is a lot better than this.
This album is so stale and boring. Even if you like the music how the fuck can anyone listen to this when the production is this bad is beyond me.

This album I feel is slightly better than Rareform... Don't get me wrong Rareform was amazing, but I found myself bored during certain parts of songs and some of the breakdowns, melodies they had in Rareform didn't make sense to me. In dreams is a perfect follow up to Rareform, better song structures and toned down breakdowns (so they aren't the only thing keeping the album alive) and mixed in with complex poly-rhythms. By far my favorite album this year. Can't wait for ATB's next release, only let's up hope it's a little longer this time! (and maybe a little heavier breakdowns)

Now that i listened to this twice, Exoplanet blows this out the water. Still a good album though. FOFS is still their best imo.
