technical prowess and writing skill that made Rareform such a stand out album

the writing on rareform sucked, but agreed the music was much cooler

I don't know man, on rareform they combined technicality and melody which is what made it unique. On this album they sort of kept them separate...

only song I didn't delete is the second one, which sounds like a Rareform-ish track

yeah but the whole record was very inconsistent and the random breakdowns several times per song was annoying

Second track is definitely the only thing on the album worth hearing again

whole albums good guys, although i agree that there is a lack of flow into breakdowns

Listen to 1:25 on Your Troubles... and then listen to 0:27 of Exoplanet II by The Contortionist, the

vocal line is almost exactly the same with very similar lyrics. What is really weird is that I AM THE

CONTORTIONIST is screamed dozens of times in that song as well.

Rareform had a few orgasmic moments sandwiched between loads of mediocrity. This is much more consistent, but doesn't have as many "wow" moments.

This has better songwriting/consistency but less awesome instrumentals, and vice versa with rareform, like Thor said. I wrote a review but idk if im gonna post

i enjoy the new streamlined structure a lot more, and there are plenty of cool wanky moments and some great breakdowns. vocals are still beast though.

i think they were trying to give vocals more of an important piece in this album which is why it doesn't have as many awesome instrumentals. which for me is what made it more consistent.

I think they were trying to appeal more to fags like Comatorium and that's why it doesn't have as many awesome instrumentals.
