I wasn't waiting for another None So Vile. I looked at this completely new, not knowing what expect. It's frustrating to hear people say I was too harsh, god forbid I should have a negative opinion.

I'm never said you were too harsh, this is your opinion, I,m just saying that too many people are saying "this cd sux they should do more none so vile type of death metal"

I agree there. None So Vile was exceptionally good and it's unreasonable to expect them to do something that good with every album.
I'm sorry, but many have said I was too harsh, but they didn't seem to be listening to me.

These guys are the penicle of bad music. I can't stand their stuff much less sit doen and listen to a track by them.

You mean pinnacle? And no, this album happens to suck buyt the band writes great stuff. Cold Hate Warm Blood anyone? Lord Worm has never really made me weak at the knees except for his scream in Open Face Surgery. Other than that he always sounds out of place in timing and in the mix.

Cravinov just doesn't have a taste for brutal death metal.

If Cryptopsy was brutal death metal, I'd probably like it. They are hack, that's my opinion, and I'm sticking with it. Don't make me have to say other wise please.

I've heard a few more tracks and just want to say one thing;
This album is a dark hour for Flo. Yes, he does some of the most technical, jazzy stuff I've ever heard. But his snare... bloody hell it sounds like he's just hitting a block of wood. A very thick one, because it manages to drown out everything else everytime he hits it. And I know I always complain about death metal production softing up the bass drum, but this is the complete opposite and whilst it suits the block of wood, it doesn't suit the music at all.
Also, the songs I've heard are hardly death metal. I'd call it progressive metal, because the vocals certainly aren't death and neither are the riffs (which sound like they should be in a power metal song).
Lord Worm sounds awesome until he tries to scream and his throat clogs up with phlegm. And damn it I want to hear those awesome, demonic screams from None So Vile.

This is their worst album, but their early work kicks ass. The first three are staples in the death metal scene. Worm's vocals often sound sloppy and random, but he really does have some shining moments. If they had Lord Worm on Whisper Supremecy it would've been even better than None So Vile.

Are you saying this band isn't brutal death metal?

I'm saying that compared to everyo other 'bruta;' death meatl band, this band is hack, they were, however slightly more bearable to my ears when Lord Worm wasn't the vocalist.

Interesting. These guys are generally considered the epitome of brutal death metal, and I agree. Mike DiSalvo was a terrible vocalist, and didn't work at all compared to Lord Worm in his prime. His vocals here are awful though. This Message Edited On 12.13.05

I dunno, they just don't cut it for me, I can take Morbid Angel, Soilent Green, [put any grindcore band here], and Bolt Thrower, but these guys just make me cringe.

Why would the best death metal band ever make you cringe? :thumb:

Anal Cunt is a joke band.

Duh. But they're heavy as flying f*ck. Funny too, but a little to trendy in the whole sexist/ racist thing for my taste.
These reviews were submitted recently and havn't even shown up as being submitted on the main page. But I guess there is a reason for that.

The only thing I noticed in all of this was cravinov had about 3 or 5 typos. lol...
Quality review as always shadows.
Cravinov needs to listen to a whole Nile album.
He'd most likely go cry for this nu metal.

I love this album now, it has grown on me and the reviewer should have waited a little and listened to it more than once before reviewing.
Get over the vocals, sure it's not Lord Worm NSV era, but nothing will top that, don't go into this album expecting another NSV, they (Cryptopsy) said themselves they where going in a completely different direction, and they also said that they planned on having the production bad.
I like the vocals, they make it sound more evil like in Angelskingarden in the beginning, it's so awesome and sort of black-metalish (I'm using black metal loosely)
The guitar riffs are good I think, they get stuck in my head day in and day out, the part in Adeste Infidelis, when Worm is talking, that part was stuck in my head forever.
You just have to go into this album with an open mind and DON'T expect NSV, that's what I did at first and hated it, now I love this album. Flo is god, but that has been stated

I'd appreciate it if you would just let me think the way I do and stop trying to accuse me of expecting too much. I listened to this album around ten times before reviewing it. I wasn't expecting anything, because they've had a lot of changes since NSV.
I've gone over this album countless times, weighing what it has to offer without focusing on what the band once was. I keep coming back to the same conclusion. This album is a huge letdown by Cryptopsty standards. But just as much, this album is a major letdown by any death metal standards. I dislike this album in almost every way and I can say with sincerity that no amount of time or viewpoint is going to change my mind.
I don't like the album. Plain and simple. Please just accept the fact and stop trying to play it off as though this thing is a masterpiece but I somehow tarnished its image.

At first listen, I really enjoyed this album. Same for the second third and fourth listen. Then I started to dislike it for quite a while. I was focusing on things that in the end, weren't that important.
You say you listened to this album ten times, and there is no possible way it will grow on you. Well it took me a few months before I put this back into my cd player. Some of my favorite records of all time have taken months at a time for me to really appreciate and come to love.
