This man really knew how to close out an album.
"Saturday Sun" is a perfect song and "From the Morning" is quite possibly an all-time top-10'er for me.
Still need to hear Bryter Layter.

Just catching up with some of my favourite albums. This was my first introduction to nick in 1991 when I went to Uni. It was my favourite for a long time, until pink moon opened up to me eventually. Great review. Good to see some insightful appreciation for his art.

hmm if there's an issue i have here it's that the orchestral strings feel far inferior to the more stripped-back tracks and simpler additions
other than that this really hits the spot

That kinda makes me worried that you're not gonna like Bryter Layter as much then, since that's the most string-driven and has the most backing musicians out of all of his albums
