i like how the tone slowly changes. I wonder if the arrangement in chronological. I definitely dig where they were closer to 96 more if that's the case

This comp is so good. For me personally, I enjoy it more than Souvlaki because I don't dig the goth influences that are pretty prominent and the overall vibe of this album is way more bright than Souvlaki, which I prefer. In my opinion, Slowdive + Morningrise + Shine Eps > Souvlaki. This sits behind Loveless, Heaven or Las Vegas, and VCD as my favorite Shoegaze/Dream Pop record

the benefit of this being a comp is the versatility. the first couple tracks sound like a female fronted Dinosaur Jr, Melt and Chime recall Slowdive, and the second half is Cocteau Twins at their dreamiest... the run from Always April --> Leech is jaw dropping
