There was a follow-up album from this band, btw. This review is like 11 years old so the guy that wrote it might never see this or might know it already, but Japan reformed in the late 80s under the name Rain Tree Crow and released one album.

rain tree crow doesn't feel like the progression of Japan as a band tho but like a sendoff swan song of sorts
