"I took a stab at mastering this album which you can tell immediately by listening to it that it was NOT mastered and is also missing a mastering credit in the album notes. Trey was really into talking about raw sound during interviews for this album cycle and I remember on one of them he even suggested that he wished all of the previous albums sounded like this one (!) which is a pretty "out there" thing to suggest to the pearl clutching fans of death metal, but that's Trey for you.
The track order is rearranged slightly and the last 12 minutes or so of "fat" on the original album has been trimmed here. You can almost hear the bass guitar throughout now. It's still a pretty raw sounding affair, but clearer and a bit more pronounced now."

No need for remaster of this album imo, because lofi metal is in no need for any beautification, and because the black metal element of this album would be severely compromised.
I still see that rating average and it bewilders me.

And yeah can't see the issue with the production either, there are far worse things out there.

^^It's difficult to fit everything with so many superb albums, but the real reason - which Azagthoth mentioned in interviews at the time - is that Sandoval is not able to play drums at this intensity/speed/precision for more than 70 minutes, which happens to be the duration of this video.
I watched them live in Hellas in '06 with Vincent, and they played exactly 70 minutes, after the show Sandoval could barely walk…
