Altars and Covenant sound amazing. this, Domination, and Gateways sound pretty great, even though the drums could sound a lot better (especially on Gateways, yikes). Blessed and Formulas sound dece. i even like how Kingdom sounds (with the exception of, yet again, the drums).

I saw a dude on metal archives give this a 9% and said it was horrible and Steve Tucker ruined the band and said how excited he was when Vincent came back, then he gave Illud a 45%

the thing about Illud is that it should've been split into two EPs instead of a single album. like half of that album is decent Morbid Angel-by-the-numbers dm and the other half is the shitty experimental stuff. if all that shitty experimental stuff had been released as an EP, it'd just be remembered as a throwaway release and not a stain on their legacy.

Covenant is a bit inconsistent to me. I like how it showed them starting to go into weirder riffs but the tracks that arent like that dont interest me as much.
Second half of this is bad but the first half is more consistent than Covenant is.
