It seems Dimmu decided to let the orchestra be the driving point of the album. And the guitar parts are so few, its a shame because some of the guitar parts are rather good.

This is Dimmu Borg-estra essentially

The orchestral parts are awesome! I can't stop listening to the orchestral versions of "Gateways" and "The Demiurge Molecule".

Well, what should I say. I won't rate this album yet, cos I didn't make it through all of it, but it's a bit better than that boring uninspired crap In Sorte Diaboli. Zero lasting value, though. The funny thing is, I thought Miasma by The Eternal Suffering was this album (thanks to the leak), and I was surprised that they were so good for Dimmu. Now I know these are separate bands and that Dimmu still blows.

Goddamn it Gateways is a great track.I listened to it 3 times in a row (While scrobbling emperor - oh the shame).

But mostly the symphonic parts, the guitar melody near the middle and the vocal lines in the end.Fucking apocalyptic.

I disagree in some aspects. I find the album much better and more inspired than the last two releases. The orchestral elements are far better integrated. Riffs and drumming are extremely well produced. I like it. The style and overall sound have not changed, but this the trademark.

Spiritual Black Dimensions is their worst album and Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia is definitely their best of the post Enthrone Darkness Triumpahnt albums.

The songs they played on this album (Born Treacherous, Gateways, Chess With The Abyss, and Dimmu Borgir, A Jewel Traced Through Coal) live turned out very well. they also chunked them in the middle of their set. a good idea as well, because everyone was mainly there for them to play the old school Dimmu.

it was also a good thing that they started with Spellbound (By the Devil), and ended with Mourning Palace. kinda wished they played In Death's Embrace, but i also wished they played EDT in its entirety anyway.

Enthrone Darkness Triumphant is their best album by far, and they should continue dishing out the EDT live. they should've played something off of Stormblast too, but that would just be too perfect.

TL;DR : they ruled live.

I really didn't like this too much at first because it was overly symphonic. But the fact that it's a real orchestra and well composed has made it grow on me. The guitars could have been louder and I still don't like Gateways because of the terrible female vocals but this is still a good listen.

Not a bad album at all, but hating on the band seems to be a new trend.
