I have high hopes that the new record is close to this masterpiece in termes of quality

I always expect bands to fall very short of their previous efforts. That way I'm never disappointed

My word this is awesome, where next? Screw it, a whole discography jam is needed badly. Seeing these guys with Opeth is going to be insane.

Bro wtf you've never jammed Enslaved before this??? Get on everything, one of the best bands ever.

Will do. I'd jammed very little metal, especially 'extreme metal' before the start of this year, this isn't unusual for me. I hadn't heard Opeth or Death before February. I did listen to metal but it was an occasional aside to other things & for some reason it wasn't even the 'obvious' stuff.

I'm like a man reborn!

Metal is the best bro, you got a long journey ahead of you.

I've been jamming metal for over a decade and there's still a lot of stuff that is considered classic that I haven't jammed either. It's never ending haha.

Yeah, at the minute I'm still trying to establish what I like & it's overwhelming how much is out there, especially when you come to a site like this & you see this enormous database of stuff. I plan to catalogue everything I like from this year (heard this year, not released) when it ends, probably do one of those pointless 'lists' haha.

Yeah I do an end of the year list every year haha. Still impossible to hear everything that comes out, but I guess that's not a bad thing. m/

Will that be a 2017 list, or what you've heard for the first time this year? I haven't heard hardly anything from '17, too busy catching up.

2017 list bro, if I put everything on that I've heard this year I would have to make 234 lists hahahaha.

Passing the knowledge on, good to see. Something wonderful has happened, the pie has rewarded me... Progressive Metal has replaced Alt. Rock as my biggest slice. Very sad I know...

Sludge & DM are tantalising close as well (although electronic is now also sandwiched in between).
