the only issue i have with this EP(or LP?) is that it is way too short .I recently read an interview where they described their sound as 'Thunder-pop'.

Why is the album abnormally SHORT??? I mean....this is an EP at best. I'm very disappointed with that. Put out a 45 minute - 10 song album.

But...what's there does indeed kick ass.

The band, and pretty much everyone else, is referring to it as an EP, so the length is justifiably short. It really does kind of float in the middle ground between EP and LP though.

Maybe this is just my ongoing hardcore kick talking, but albums don't need to be lengthy at all to be awesome. The material on offer here is pretty high quality stuff, so length (or lack of it) doesn't bother me at all...honestly I just let it play over and over so length is pretty much a non-issue...

In reality, to me the "fill the whole cd up" is really a waste. 14-15 songs is just too much to digest for an album. Sort of dilutes the final product. 10 songs is plenty. You can get the whole picture....and it's more to the point.

This is a damn fine slab of music. It's just a VERY SMALL slab. Why go to the trouble of putting out a cd with only 20 minutes or so on it? I hate EP's and to me....it's just a waste.
I like Torche and I like this release. But put out a full album.

Guess I need to back off on the meds. Didn't realize that this is my third time commenting on this.

Damn.

Sorry.

Some are indeed labeling this as an EP and others an LP. I say EP.

I think the sticker on the record read something like "The follow up full length to the universally acclaimed, album of the year, Meanderthal". So I suppose the band is calling it a full length. Regardless though, it's still an awesome release so just get over the length and throw that sucker on repeat.

You can call it an EP, LP, micro-album, maxi-single, stop-gap

This is considered an LP, why it's under EP's beats the hell out of me.

This album fucking rules too!

Yeah, the packaging on the record (which took two and a half weeks to ship after release AND was all but destroyed when I received it so thanks a bunch to Hydra Head and UPS respectively), says it's a "full length". I made that comment due to every single article/review/interview I had read up to that point seemed to be slapping a different label on the release.
