Great review, Inveigh. Here's something you could change - "the production sounds more fresh and inspired than anything they’ve released since 2005’s Seven’s Travels."
Seven's came out in 2003, homie.

oh shit, that was a messed up edit. I originally had it as You Can't Imagine.. but decided the production on this was even better than that, or at least on par, so I changed it to Seven's.
thanks for pointing that out man.

and yeah Joe I was pretty surprised by the quality too, I expected Slug to continue his downward slide and while Ant's usually pretty great, I didn't expect the beats to be this good.

yeah, it's kind of like how Lucy Ford is a compilation of the Lucy EP and the Ford EP -- this is the To All My Friends EP and the Blood Makes the Blade Holy EP. Only in this case I don't think they were released on their own first...
but yeah this I guess is supposed to kick off their fall headlining tour. The last track on here was released about a month ago, that's when they announced these EPs I think.

how does this stand up against when life gives you lemons..?

personally, I think it's a bit better. but then again I'm not as high on Lemons as most around here, so I dunno. I definitely think the beats are better, though pretty similar to Lemons in style.

Still need to get this, will read the review in a sec.
But just quick to say, I finally got the other day why you love older Atmosphere much more than their
newer stuff. I sort of noticed that it indeed does lack the passion and drive of their older stuff,
but I still love it.
Edit: nice review mang

that definitely has a lot to do with it -- Slug just seemed more sincere on the albums from Overcast up through Seven's Travels. The rhyme-schemes and wordplay were also a lot more unique/clever back then, not to mention the themes were much deeper and more complex (i.e. Woman With the Tattooed Hands, God's Bathroom Floor, Love Life)

Yeah man definitely. Overcast! definitely has my favorite beats of any Atmosphere album. Well, maybe, idk haha. But yeah, so true with what you said. But, once I'm a big fan it doesn't take much for me to continue being a fan. xD lol
