do people not think walking with strangers is the weakest of the 3 by far? that's so strange to me lol. it has some great songs, particularly the title track, but way more filler than i'm used to from BM

It's a fair point, yes, Walking With Strangers has fillers, but no other album has Red Stars so...

You can argue that Red Stars is not their best song, Gyro, but you'd be so wrong.
PS: I'm not crazy about the song (not in my top 5 BM), but you hear it for the first time and it's the stuff of legends. That doesn't happen with their other songs no matter how much they grow on ya.
