I have a feeling that these guys may be capable of writing a good album down the road, but this doesn't seem to be really worth checking out.

I think I still might write a review for this. It's all about me finding time, though...

Good review Machine. I sort of get the feeling that you like this more than a 3, but can’t bring yourself to raise your rating.
Loved the lines “four-chord four-chordsies” and “today’s 1,000 new Myspace band sign-ups”.

This review is kinda silly and cliche'. First the bashing of the name, way too easy. Def not review worthy. Also things like "which vocalists Mascherino and Eppard switch roles" in which you name the drummer as the other vocalist, clearly shows a lack of homework.
Admittedly a fan of Fred's work, I find that his 4 chords are often overlooked. When in actuality they are 4 pretty hard chords coming from a jazz degree. What people fail to realize is that normally people with a jazz background typically have a hard time writing music for the masses (ala Karate). It's Fred's ability to make it accessible while still keeping the "smart" factor in the songwriting that makes him so great.

Including former members of Taking Back Sunday, Hot Rod Circuit & Coheed and Cambria, Terrible Things deliver solid straight-ahead rock on their self-titled debut LP. While it is far from groundbreaking & not overly memorable, it is accomplished in practically every aspect. Energetic riffs, driving rhythms & arena-ready choruses are dispersed throughout, while variety is sufficient & often interesting. Ultimately, if this supergroup of sorts can remain together, then this is definitely a sound which can be built upon. Recommended Tracks: Revolution, Terrible Things, The Arsonist's Wife & Lullaby.

This album was a blast. I can't believe I had never heard of it considering this was a Fred project and I'm a huge TBS fan boy.
