How can someone say they like Doom metal, and never had heard of Mar De Grises?

Anyway, this and Kylesa's new album are my top anticipations of 2010, along with Kamelot, The Ocean's second release and possibly Agalloch (hope it's not pushed to 2011)

Mars havnt been my favorite Doom band over the years, but they have always been so consistant. So I may not be one of the people accepting of a new sound. Will have to see. Not listening to anything till my copy arrives

They're worth checking out. The only issue is that this album is much different than their older stuff so if you start with this, the other two will be a surprise, and if you start with the other two...

I'm a DIE HARD fan of this band. Their two albums is so awesome. Hope that with this new CD they don't lost the beauty of the melancholic ambiance they create. I like Shining Human Skin but I hope that Stream Inwards in general is a little bit more dark.

The latter half of the album is a bit darker than the first half, but it's also not as guitar driven.

I got a promo. It's not released anywhere until Monday. It's still shocking, though, because usually within a day of me getting a promo for something the album is leaked all over the internet too.

If this is anything like Swallow The Sun I'll most likely dig it.

Also I think you know the answer to your summary Trey ;)

I have a few theories, that's for sure. It's better than Swallow the Sun. Although, I'm not Swallow the Sun's biggest fan. I like their debut and their new album.

I guess once it's released on Monday (in Europe, anyway) people can start to find out.
