This isn't as good as the other two. Just to warn you.

I might agree but I'll still have to see. I still think they won't be able to top TAS but this might be better then division.

I meant to say TAE I have no idea why I put TAS

Thanks tripleb2k. I hope you like the album at least a fair bit.
LG, I'm surprised you like this so much. I feel 'Division' is clearly superior.
Hmm, "a lot more catchier"? I know what you mean TPM, but I can't say I agree. Not a lot more anyway.
LOL re: synth-pop.
I agree CutMan. A lot of people are gonna hate on 'Don't Fight It', but it achieves what it sets out to do very well.
Too many people hate on 'Division' I think.

Yeah, I actually had a road trip this weekend & listened to all of 10 Years' albums. The one thing to come from it was that 'Division' was better than I initially thought & every bit the equal of 'TAE'.

ehhhhhhhh. Not quite as good as TAE. But it still rules. I loved the songs "Beautiful" when it first came out.

Is it just me but Fade Into sounds like a direct Tool rip-off.

Most modern alt-rock rips off some Tool.

Nevermind. It's just in line with the reproductive feel of the album. It's like they combined their previous record with a more hard-edged alt metal style of Stereomud, let's say.

10 Years have always been questioned of borrowing from Tool.
Speaking of Tool, they are rumoured to be headlining the upcoming Big Day Out.

great review Davey, I think I may check this out

Good review Davey, I'm not sure that I'll look into this since I haven't checked any of their earlier releases, but who knows.
Also, I just noticed how similar our summaries are on the front page haha (it was unintentional, really)

I'd compare 10 Years more to A Perfect Circle, really.
Also, I'm a fan of Division. It was a great album. Not sure if it was better than TAE, but it grows on me more and more with time.

Division is their most polished and the best album in my opinion. A Perfect Circle comparisons seem obvious, but I still find a lot of Tool in the last song on this album.

While I read this review I felt it read more like a 4.0 than a 3.5, although both scores are appreciable. I discovered 10 years when they put out Autumn Effect and I loved it, same as Division. I feel this album is their most mature and impressive release yet. I really don't understand why this isn't getting higher reviews, the entire album plays so nicely.

Thanks Apollo.
Thanks Magnus. Yeah, those summaries look extremely similar... Except mine is more puntastic.
Good point CutMan. The vocals are the thing I guess. Tool only comes into play when they geta bit more ambitious/dark/progressive.
back2NU, I don't see that myself. In fact, it's closer to a 3 than a 4 imo. I do try not to dwell on what I believe is a disappointing first half to the album though.
