Cirkus is really outstanding here, of the first three albums this is the one I like the less honestly.

"Overall, the album is unlistenable. Our remastering shows just how unlistenable. I am unable to recommend that anyone part with their hard-earned pay for this one, unless they want to take it to parties and play it at unwelcome guests. There are some "Lizard" lovers, I know. They must be very strange."

Isn't that from the 2004 remasters? Because he was definitely singing a different tune when he went back to the masters with Steven Wilson.

"Another pile of unhappy memories accompany this album, as with virtually all the KC albums."
Fripp is a quite interesting character

yeah, I'm quite sure he was warming up to it when he remastered it a few years back. I just think he views this one poorly due to the sessions being not exactly the greatest.

A classic case of progressive rock going too far. Terribly overblown, tastelessly dense, especially on the t/t (the orchestrations!). "Lady of the Dancing Water" is so by numbers it hurts.
Still, the album's excesses are as much its weaknesses as they are its strengths. There is simply absolutely nothing out there that sounds even remotely like it. I'm rarely in the right mood for it, but when I am, there is no end to jamming it. Insane stuff.
