I like Never Named's lyrics it's all about when he was a kid heh. Also Applebite could be 10 mins long and I'd still love it. Overfloater can get boring but I usually like it all he way through.

Eh, Ty Cobb is still my favorite here.

For me it's Tighter & Tighter, which is my favorite Soundgarden song ever

Wow. I don't think about that sort of stuff much, but if I had to pick it'd probably be Rusty Cage. I don't know, probably a tune from Badmotorfinger.

Tighter & Tighter is definitely one of my favorites. The guitar in that song...dang. Zero Chance is another one that just blows me away. Never Named is one of my lesser liked songs on the album, but it's still not too shabby.

I was actually surprised by how decent King Animal is. It's certainly much better than Stone Temple Pilots' comeback album. The sound quality on King Animal isn't that great (poor dynamic range), but otherwise it's a pretty solid album.

STP's comeback album is utter shit. Not that I was surprised, though. King Animal's first 4 tracks especially rule, they've still got it.

I never got why this album is rated so low.

One of the most underrated albums... EVER! Putting aside the known/more popular songs on this album, the rest is just as phenomenal. Tighter and Tighter is an absolute gem; Overfloater, Switch Opens, Never the machine forever, boot camp, ty cobb, Dusty, Zero Chance... the album is all great. There is no "filler" in my opinion.

Easy 5/5. Such variety in their sound as well..

Switch Opens the only bad song? Strongggly disagree.

I don't know, it's just kind of meh, but the others are stellar.

Learned to play Zero Chance on guitar today and it got me into giving the album another spin. Wound up and heard Superunknown instead ahah.

Down On The Upside is slightly inconsistent in my opinion, but some tracks here are my favorites of Soundgarden's. Of course, my all time favorite is probably "Rusty Cage". What about yours, Ars?

"Tighter & Tighter" is my favorite Soundgarden song ever

and I literally love every track on here except for "Switch Open" which is boring and has kind of bad lyrics... to me this album is grunge at it's best.

Badmotorfinger is amazing too, deff my 2nd favorite Soundgarden album, though I'd go with "Holy Water" honestly.

Check this list I made a while back haha: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1034848&listid=153089

Well, the lyrics for Never Named are even worse, they're cringy as hell compared to Switch Opens, but I can agree both songs are subpar.

Just read your list, some amazing picks (18-14, 12-11, 8-6 and 2 mostly), and I agree on Screaming Life being very underrated, an excellent EP from start to finish. But I'd also add a couple of tunes you didn't mention, maybe Let Me Drown, Ty Cobb, Face Pollution, 4th Of July... I always enjoy those lists but hate having to do one myself tbh, ahah.

"Well, the lyrics for Never Named are even worse"

Eh... they're not the best, but they're kind of cute.

Well, for me it's just that when I'm going for Soundgarden I'd rather scream along to NOW I KNOW WHY YOU'VE BEEN SHAKIN'! than hear him sing about his dog : )

I don't mind either way. Lyrical diversity is the sign of a good lyricist in my opinion.

Agree, and Cornell is a great one. I heard he performed a couple of tunes from his latest album on a TV program yesterday or a couple of days ago, have you heard his record yet?

I know the song "Scream" from his album of the same name... and it was horrific, so no I haven't checked the rest of the album.

Cornell didn't write any lyrics on that album... he just sang them.

Unless you're talking about an album newer than Scream...

That's not the one I meant, he put out a new album in late September called "Higher Truth". It's a pretty decent folk singer-songwriter record, has a couple of nice catchy tunes.
