I have it; just need to listen to it still. Tomorrow almost certainly, right now I'm off.

k. You were right, Blauwe Ruis is different from Omarm but they still have their share of similarities. Album is once again very well balanced and here, we got more rock oriented songs. For some reasons, It took me a few more listens to Blauwe Ruis before liking it as much as Omarm and now, it's done. So I can't give to it less than 4/5. That is.

I gave it a 4 myself, so you don't see me complaining. Should you wish to look further, you know where to ask.

It's on their compilation album, Het Eind van het Begin, which is in the same download link as I gave you before. The combination of Dutch and English vocals works quite nicely, or the combination of the two bands in that case.

Yeah man, I listened to that wonderful track when I've read your review. So they have some connections with The Counting Crows?

The two bands have a pretty strong friendship, they met whilst touring together, which resulted in Holiday in Spain.

That's pretty cool! Damn I just noticed I didn't rate 'August and Everything After', one of the all time fav albums of one of my brothers. I still need to listen to it entirely before rating it though. I see you gave it a 4.5, so yes.

August is one of my favourite 90's albums, shame they never reached the same level again. My own brother and I never see eye to eye when it comes to music, he despises everything that is A) old B) mainstream. I still hope someday he'll learn, you are in luck.

We the 3 brothers (I'm the older) share nearly the same musical background. The younger is the one who followed the most my footsteps (he's also a drummer) while the other one is more fond in mainstream rock and radio friendly stuff. About prog rock, the latter likes more its accessible stuff in the first place.

I wish I could speak Dutch. The only Dutch words I know are Arjen Robben, Nigel de Jong, and Dirk Kuyt.

I support The Netherland's national football team cause ours sucks... And Irving dutch really isn't
all that great of a language.

It's all relative right? When I bust out some of my native Malay people go "OMG THAT'S SO COOL!" when actually all I'm doing is remarking how my left armpit is itchy.

We are all fascinated by what we don't understand =)

I didn't even think about that but you are making a valid point. Still, I am not very interested in learning languages that are not widely used around the world.

Well, I got this album from a friend some time ago and I liked it very much. So much better than the dutch crap we produce... I'm thinking of doing a De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig review just for the lulz.
