So Shadows...What is your idea of good metalcore? Since Trivium is widely considered along with As I Lay Dying, Machinehead, and others as one of the best pure metalcore groups out there...

I remember loving this album when it first came out, but now that I come back to it about five years later I can't stand Matt's vocals here.

The screaming is way overdone and gets extremely annoying after the third track. Not sure how I tolerated it back then. Same thing with Ember to Inferno. The vocals in Shogun are much better.

So much fail in this statement...ok.

1. Shadows isnt even a member of sputnik anymore and has been gone for quite a while now. He won't see what you wrote.

2. As I lay dying are pretty much your average metalcore band and are not anywhere near the best metalcore out there. Same for Trivium but they bring me a lot of Nostalgia as they were the first form of metal i really liked.

3. Machine Head aren't even Metalcore, learn to genre.

inb4 Ire or someone tells me what i said isnt valid because i like btbam/have 'crap' taste in music or bring up YET AGAIN a statement i made 6 months ago when i didn't know what i was talking about. Oh and inb4 another Rasputin hate post.

/endrant.

I'm sorry, I love this album. I don't know, if it's because I was listening to it everyday when i was ~12 or if my taste in music is terrible, but I can't not like it. It's so fun listening to this, I usually don't even like this kind of Metal(core).

Alright, I really, really dislike this album. It probably doesn't have the nostalgia that others do for me, but it doesn't mask the fact that this is really boring.

There's no doubt that this is or was overrated when it came out but I can't not enjoy it. The first band shirt I bought was a Trivium shirt and I barely enjoy this less than when I was 12. I can imagine that I would hate them too though, if I had just listened to this today for the first time.
