Ignore the negative comments. This is their best album without Ozzy or Dio

This album, TYR and Cross Purposes are much better than the collective ratings say they are imo.
Nightwing is fantastic beyond words.

the tony martin hate blows my mind. Dio ranks much higher on the greatness scale obviously, but Tony Martin straight up does everything Dio can do, and I'd argue he does it better. He's easily my favorite of the Sabbath vocalists.
Also, Black Moon is a mega-banger.

When Death Calls is so good.

Yeah, I don't comprehend the hate for Tony Martin, either. I believe it's based on the fact that it's not Ozzy or RJD, which is lame. Despite the material of the Tony Martin era - which doesn't seem as inspired to me as other eras - TM ALWAYS gives it his all. He's a great singer.
Headless Cross...songs are good and the performances are good, but the production is...eh, a little stale. I wish it was done with an outside producer (maybe someone like Martin Birch or Mike Clink...even Bruce Fairbairn). I think that may have helped freshen things a bit.
Favorite songs on this album are the title track, Nightwing and When Death Calls. Bangers!
Favorite TM-era Sabbath album? The Eternal Idol.

Tyr is definitely my favorite, but I love the vibes of TM era. Just power-metal enough to not be cringe, and riffs aplenty.

Headless Cross and the whole Tony Martin era in general, has always had many followers and many adversaries. Personally, i'm standing somewhere in the middle, but leaning towards the adversary side of it.
Unfortunately, whether this era is good or not, it gave us what is arguably the worst Sabbath album of all time.

I don't know, dude. Never Say Die and Technical Ecstacy are just as worthless to the Sabbath discog as Forbidden.

Yeah, way. Pretty much every era of Sabbath has had its nadir and the Ozzy era has dropped to equivalent lows.
