Can't say I expected that from a Davis record, but his disog is so thick and diverse you never know what you might get.

Amazing album. Great review, which would have been excellent if you’d have mentioned Joe Zawinul, the other keyboardist on this album who wrote “In A Silent Way”.

Almost got a copy of this on vinyl for $17 but didn’t grab cuz the cover was in crappy condition so I figured the disc might of been as well

discog walk; Revisiting this impressive massive Miles album. For me, Part-1 is stronger than Part-2.

Amazing yeah but I can't decide what I feel about the copy-pasting post-production

Arguing over the post production on Miles Davis albums is hipster evolution in effect

I mean it's still a masterpiece, but the fact that a good 10 minutes of it is copy-pasted is an interesting point of discussion. Especially for Shh / Peaceful in which the Peaceful section is even shorter than the repetition of the Shh tape
you could say it's to mimic a sonata structure, you could say it's just to fill space for an LP, or maybe it's both and you can find genius in it

I've heard a lot more Miles, but nowhere near complete discography. This, On the Corner, and Get up With it would be my top 3.

Yeah, I was surprised when I found out that Chick Corea and John McLaughlin performed with Miles during this period of his career. No wonder they went on to become absolute legends in their own right, lol
