Unfortunate, you'll like the next two much better I assume. I love the next two

Well Kurt comes into the band after this, and Cory becomes more of a solid vocalist rather than being used an an instrument

This album is the only one that clicked with me completely. It's not as generic sounding as their later albums. It's definitely messy and sounds like a band still trying to find their sound but it has some really strong moments.

been going through their stuff lately and this is awesome, prefer it to conversation piece and no place. not to say those were bad but this has such a different and freer feeling

Yes this is for sure their best and least constrained. They execute every musical style they attempt perfectly, sometimes to dizzying effects (see: How I Parted the Red Sea, SSiNPfR). Closing track is an absolute treat once it gets going. Gotta bump my rating for this.

Also Losing a Whole Year is my favorite 3EB song so that cover was fucking awesome the first time I heard it. Still jam it sometimes.

Can't get into this one as much as the next two but it's still solid
