I read a description that Isaac sounds like god during the "in the last second of life" part, he totally does. Best MM song I've heard.

Is. But is has everything I love about them. That atmosphere. Those lyrics. Those vocals (omg). Then you've got those violin
arpeggios... Its just so fucking epic. I know you're a 90s MM devotee though so I understand that you probs feel different.
What would you say is best?

i just tried answering that but ended up writing like 5 different tunes... it's so hard man. So I'll just go with Teeth Like God's Shoeshine... for now. it rocks so so hard, plus the lyrics are amazing.

Thought that would happen!
Oh yeah, worthy choice, it would be up there for me as well. It breaks down so hard, plus them guitar riffs... Damn.

rules. Originally i had that tied with, like, 3 songs from Long Drive (which you seriously gotta hear) and a couple from LCW. Maybe Third Planet, actually. i do love that one

Yeah dude, I really need to change that. Better than LCW?
Third Planet is just fucking amazing. Blew my mind the first time I heard it.

it's about on par imo, but it has more real stand out tracks.

Wouldn't load on my phone, what track is it? Got the album.
TM&A, Kid A and For Emma are all perfect in the winter. Best time to get lost in the music.

She Ionizes and Atomizes... its one of their best. the lyrics are oustanding if you get the metaphor (admittedly I didn't and had to look it up heh)

Is this the album I should start off with if I want to get into Modest Mouse. The only song I remember from them is of course, Float On, but I want to see if I'm missing out on anything more.

In the last seconds of life
they're gonna show you how
how they run this show
sure, run it into the ground
The stars are projectors, yeah.
Projectin' our lives down to this
Planet earth
Everyone wants a double feature, they
Want to be their own damn teacher, and
How, all the stars are projectors, yeah.
Projectin' our lives down this
Planet earth
It's all about moderate climates, you gotta
Be cold and be hot for sure.
It's all about the moderate climates, you
Want to be blessed and be cursed for sure.

Teeth Like God's Shoeshine was my favorite for like a millennium, then it switched to Life Like Weeds, then Trailer Trash, then Bankrupt On Selling, then Paper Thin Walls, and right now I'd have to say it's Talking Shit About A Pretty Sunset.

most of their albums can be a little tricky at first cause of songs like "Dance Hall" and "Dog Paddle" etc
Their last two albums are the most instant, but the first three are the best. This or LCW are the best places to start imo
