This album is so not better than Menos el Oso, but whatever.

Still as chill as ever. Pirates is still the best because it is just so much fun.

I love Pirates, Absinthe is by far my favorite MTB track.
|
| |
Too much filler though on Pirates though, could have been the best EP ever if they trimmed it down a bit.

Nah, I wouldn't change a thing. But to each his own.

I liked everything but those short ambientish tracks and Electric Boogaloo. Andy Wolff is awesome though.

I meant a return to form in that I actually enjoy it, not in terms of sound
It's not a return to form, whatever

not sure how i feel about this album, but it will probably never be more than a 4 for me.
just seems like they tried to do too much. go back to their carefree roots, their chill vibe, while
still maintaining the forward-thinking proggy direction of planet of ice, AND make it poppy. which is
conflicting for me, because thats exactly what i'd want from them, but it's not doing it for me. just
seems like each aspect is only half of what it could be.
i cant even make sense here, don't know how i'm going to write this review.

Musically they pulled off the "poppy" aspect without sacrificing too much of their proggy pwnage.
And gawd stop ranking their albums... IT IS DIFFERENT, and we don't care if you think granny smith is better than mcintosh. I'm thinking this is my aoty.

No staff review, wow.
this isn't even officially released for 2 weeks and matts got it dibbed
not sure why this and bss got featured so early on user reviews though, maybe to direct attention to the streams(?) idk

So far after six or seven listens, I find the album beautiful. Of course, Jake's mediocre vocals and usual lyrics may be off putting for some, but I love it. They definitely didn't carry very much over from their POI style, but they pull off the chill/synthy sound very well.

really cant understand why this rushed, unsubstantial user review got featured lol

Because I needed somewhere to complain about this album.
