Whole album is one of the best things ever made. This said, Awake >

I might as well go ahead and 5 this one too.

Every song rules hard (including the cheese).

Operation: Mindcrime is easily better than any DT album

Why? Don't deprive yourself of Operation: Mindcrime

@anthracks nor do i but you know, nostalgia

Because the vocals never appealed to me and I find that kind of prog pretty boring right now

listening to the queensryche album. why do you compare this to dream theater? i hear no similarities. this is closer to glam metal than anything else. very not impressed with this at all.

I was instantly turned off by the vocals, as choccy said it also seemed pretty generic too but I'll give it another try some time.

Also this is way better than Awake =]

You guys call yourself prog metal fans and you've never heard Queensryche? I don't care if you don't like Queensryche, but why wouldn't you at least check what all the fuss is about?

@Anthracks you listening to the new self-titled album? Skip that. Check Mindcrime. It's not like DT but it is great.

Tate was one of the best metal vocalists in his prime.

The prog metal big three's vocalists were all fantastic in their prime.

Agreed, I don't see how people wouldn't like his singing but you know opinionz. Of the early prog metal bands Tate clearly had the best voice, then Labrie in his prime and then the dudes from Fates Warning.

Well hey, if I had never heard DT and I went straight into this, I'd probably hate the vocals too
