this is only tangentially related since they're a melodeath band, but have you heard the Swedish band Sacrilege? they also have gone by Sacrilege GBG to avoid confusion with other bands. I've been repping them hard lately because their stuff is some of the most underlooked early melodeath to come out of Gothenburg.



their vocalist was In Flames's drummer Daniel Svensson and he had one of the most unique and intense voices in the genre. basically sounds like Peter Tagtgren if he was a werewolf.

I haven’t heard them but they sound awesome so I will jam sooner than later.

Totally agree. God Was Created might be the best actual melodic death metal album I've ever heard.

Doesn't beat Heartwork for me but it's pretty good. Will probably write a review of it.
