I like it, and that's really the only endorsement you need.

@ FadeToBlack and NOTINTHEFACE:
Some historical research needed on your parts I think!
At the time Christianity was widely opposed to the heliocentric view of the universe (often very forcibly so), thus by being about that view it is thereby criticisng the Christianity of the time.

Yeah those are the only half decent tracks imo.

So this is no where near as good as precambrian, but judging objectively this is still a good album. 2/5 is a bit harsh, but good review nonetheless.

Ptolemy Was Wrong brought the lulz, won't listen to the rest.

I don't understand how any of you can judge an album so harshly or positively after only being able to listen to it for a day.
at least with myself I know I didn't like Precambrian until I gave it well spaced listens throughout at least a month, I'd consider it one of my favorite albums.

Digging: The Ocean - Heliocentric
You're digging an album you hate?

Damn, I was looking forward to this.

I never used the word "hate" and just because I'm not that overly fond of it doesn't mean I'm not giving it a thorough chance.
I did really like Aeolian and Precambrian, I'm not just going to listen to Heliocentric once, call it trash, and never listen to it again, I'm just not that impressed, that's all. Anything else that you'd like to ask?

I'll most likely write a review and post it. Can't say what the score will, though, as I've yet to hear the whole thing. My hopes are pretty high after listening to the song people have been shitting on all along: Ptolemy Was Wrong, and enjoying the hell out of it. I thought the climax was just lovely.

Album is not that bad, but they really should've injected more METAL.

@ kVick:
People need to review things when they actually come out. Otherwise there'd be no new music reviewed at all. I've listened to the album 4 times and I feel that is enough to be able to make a judgement on it. I'll doubtless listen again at some point though I don't expect my overall opinion to change.

I pretty much agree with everything said in this review. It's the vocalist that ruins the entire thing. Not to say that the instrumentation is on the same level as Precambrian, but had that album's vocalist been in place here I can see something much better coming out as the end result. Well at least Periphery didn't disappoint me. RIP The Ocean.
