canada had a big involvement in one particular battle/area of WWI. it was nearish Ypres, but was probably called somewhere else cos it was a good bit away. it was their job to take a ridge that the Germans had, one of the only high points for miles and miles, and on a clear day you could see Belgium from it. visited the bigass memorial their last summer. seeing as canada was a fairly young country at the time, losing so many young men was a huge loss.

never listened to these guys but I always read the name in my head as "Woods of Yerps"
which is kinda retarded
lyrics are absolutely hilarious

(me is a world war 1 history geek) Vimy Ridge fool. I'd be ashamed to call myself a WWI geek and not remember that.

The lyrics on this album make Soulja Boy look like Edgar Allen Poe.

"there’s an undeniable nod to Type O’ Negative and Peter O’Toole (minus the whole gay porn thing)."
Peter O'Toole? The actor from Lawrence of Arabia? Not sure why you threw his name out there.
Neither O'Toole nor Steele (the singer of Type O) was ever involved with gay porn so, again, not sure why you threw that out there.

It's Steele, I'm an idiot and I was making fun of the playgirl thing. I'll fix it and remove it since he died just after i wrote this and it gives the wrong impression.
