Yeah, I'm not really a metalhead, but I've heard some black metal before so I kind of knew what I was getting myself into with this. lol
His harsh vox don't really bother me at all tbh

yeah I could see someone who cant stand metal really enjoying this. I dont generally play this when im in the mood for metal (which is all the time) I play this when I want to gaze upon the vast night sky illuminated by starlight and puke of how good it is, and also cry a little bit

Idk I still jam Alcest when I'm in metal moods.

I've tried to get several people that weren't into metal into Alcest, and it's not been successful yet. It's such a shame.

I honestly don't think Alcest is all that accessible. There's A LOT of subtle instrumentation and fine tunning on the guitars. Playing Alcest through say a phone speaker for someone who doesn't listen to music that has a bunch of shit going on all the time will probably not see them really absorb this much.

If I were trying to get someone into metal I'd definitely tell them to jam this. The Mantle too.

vox are way too abrasive for someone who doesn't like metal.

something like Biomech Ocean machine would be a better segue into metal. Because if you only picked the nonabrasive Alcest tracks to show them, you wouldn't really be introducing them to metal

Agalloch did help me get into harsher vocals in the first place, so maybe.
