quote: which means that this song really must have very few lyrics. That detracts somewhat from the song (from Hangar 18 review)
A song, ecspecially metal and speed metal, do not really need lyrics to make it good. I agree with most of your review though. good job

Lots of solos and variety riffs are what make it good, (sorry, didnt add it up above)

Quote from DangerBird: (Poison Was The Cure is one of the fastest songs ive ever heard)
This is a good album. But you have not heard lots of metal if that is one of the fastest. Pick yourself up some Terrorizer or Kreator, or something along those lines; you'll be amazed

"1 of 1 thought this review was well written"
I just got this album recently, and while I still haven't listened to it all the way through, I have to say that Hangar 18 is an absolutely amazing song. The lyrics are decent, and the riffs are pretty well-written, but what really blow me away are solos.

Iunno i may have been exhaggerating slightly, but it's still fast. I'll check out some of the Kreator shiiit though. I've heard good stuff about them.

I actually prefer Holy Wars to hanger 18 just because the musicality and speed of that song blows hanger away.

the video for holy wars looks like the video for peace sells so i like the hangar 18 video better, even though were not talking about videos im just saying and who cares the music is more impotant MAN

First I have to say that Holy Wars doesn't end on that acoustic lick, but ends after the part where dave sings
"Up on my podium, as the, know-it-all scholar, down in my seat of judgement gavel's bang, uphold the law, up on my soapbox, a leader out to change the world, down in my pulpit as the holier-than-thou could-be-messenger of God"
Take a listen to hangar 18 and you'll notice that there are count 'em 11 (not 10) solos.
This is my second favourite megadeth album (I like peace sells..but who's buying better) but the playing is amasing and the writing it great. It was the last megadeth album that they put out when they were still megadeth.

The drum sound really sucks, I hate that sound
|

I think the tone of all the instruments on this record are really good. The guitar tone is especially freakin amazing.
I love Dave's rythm, but its sloppy.

I must admit. Though I remain faithful to Zeppelin & company, Megadeth is a guilty pleasure.

I can't get past Mustaines' voice. Musically they're superb, but that voice...

That voice is killer

It's an annoying voice, I'll admit. But it can grow on you. It's kind of like Brian Johnson, except to a larger degree.
