Yeah this is amazballs

Deal sounds dude, most of their albums are inconsistent so I'd check their greatest hits records first.
Most of their singles are awesome.

"This is one superfast jellyfish and Lou Reed away from being a 5"
agree that jellyfish sucks but honestly I think Lou Reed's monotone delivery a) matches the blunt staccato beat and b) contrasts with Damon's vocal and makes it ring all the sweeter

you know Doncamatic actually flows perfectly if you put it in Superfast Jellyfish's place and it makes the album basically perfect

@FOS luv u too bb
@Pots that's a good way of putting it, there's times where my fave singers sound like trash e.g. Patton or Hollis or Yorke or Danny Brown's entire career, but because it contributes to the aesthetic of the song and creates a tension with other elements of the track then it rocks... like a noisy guitar riff or something
I'm all for musicians strategically adding dissonance to a song and delaying the melodic payoff, so that when it happens it is seven orgasms at once

so many examples of that rule that I love actually... a lot of Idiot Flesh's music, early Chem Bros and Daft Punk when they have straight up noise complimenting lush beats

i've been thinking about producing music lately and just fucking around with what little i have, the daws i've downloaded, my yamaha keyboard, my acoustic and this nanoloop app on my phone that's actually sold as a cartridge for the game boy; i guess it uses that sound chip... and that dissonance idea, specifically that of introducing a dissonant element, chord or note or ththemically, tonally... and as the song progresses, make it so the dissonant element eventually makes more sense and fits or resonates with the rest of the song. it's an idea i've been wanting to explore.

Quit talking about it and do it (;
