After two or three more listens, this grew on me. A lot. Bumped from 3 to 4.

Same with me, started as a low 3.5 and now it's a solid 4 as well.

On first listen (and I've only listened to it once!) its pretty bad in my opinion. Come on, none of the songs beside "Apollo", which is by far the best track, are catchy and the music is really repetitive. Hopefully I change my mind but I think this is worse than I-Empire - and that's pretty difficult to achieve. Respect for DeLonge though, at least he's trying to be different

So this grew on me. This is definitely the most consistent AVA record.

You seriously need to stop doing so many reviews. It sounds like it's gotten into your head, this repetitive cycle of reviewing content so consistently and at a rapid pace that you can't hear the message of this music. The need to spit out content at a steady clip gets to any reviewer, but it really seems to cloud your ultimate view of this album. However, the attitude you seemed to have before you reviewed this album regarding the band was "the staple sound of this band hasn't changed whatsoever and wasn't that great to begin with, and now I have to sit through another album of the same mediocre shit that I only previously tolerated", so i'm not surprised that your interpretation of more than half of it just fit the Thom Yorke "buzzes like a fridge" analogy like a glove for you.
Simply put: you just DON'T get this band. Move on to something simpler and with less of a purpose.

And on a sidenote: if an album called "LOVE" from Tom Delonge really raises the question "Is this filler music so we can get a Blink album soon" for you, please don't ever review another AvA album again. The very existence of this band during Blinks return speaks volumes, let alone continued production of songs.

While a near-tragedy might have made 3 guys realize that it was time to stop fighting, it's not nearly enough to make Tom put this band on the backburner. It's his life's work, and it's not going anywhere soon. Count on that.

On a serious note though, I don't hate this album...a 3 indicates that I think it is good. Sure maybe I picked a stupid summary headline, but everyone has different opinions about stuff

As much as I don't want to say this, Blink 182 shouldn't come out with a new album in my opinion. While they've progressed as musicians, they did so while apart from eachother, and while I love their albums, Blink 182 WAS. The idea and the place of that music just isn't still going on for them, and it ended when they split. Doesn't mean they're not friends, but I think even they'd agree that Blink 182 is not something that's still happening - it's something that they're looking back on when they play. I'd be very surprised to see another full-length.

You're a good writer - don't second guess yourself. I just don't agree with the take.
