Symbolic's not really a death metal album, I know that sounds blasphemous considering they essentially started the genre but the music's closer to progressive metal, same with TSOP

i wouldn't say it's WAY better than Symbolic because that's a damn-near classic album and one of the best in death's canon, but the drumming on this album takes it to a whole other level.

although it seems like the argument that's been happening between this album and symbolic since who knows when should be traceable back to a statement such as "Symbolic is a better death metal album than Human" and I'm pretty sure no one has ever said that



I may have before I understood but I have since retracted any such type statement and I haven't seen anything proposing that kind of thing for a long time
