I honestly don't get what the hype is about the title track. In my opinion it's the weakest track on here (although still not that bad). Anthem of the Angels kills it.

i mean, its okay, but still Dear Agony would be a better move.

Dear Agony just fits in better with the whole Breaking Benjamin motif

^ my point exactly.

Well yeah, Anthem wouldn't work as a single, I see it as a hidden gem to discover on the album. Even though I don't like it, Dear Agony would make a good single, I agree. They may release it later.

its just not really in their radio-esque MO for a lighter song, such as Anthem... . i like Anthem..., but as you said it should be discovered and enjoyed on the album.

Finnaly someone that understands me ! LOL
I think this was they most mature album. Musically they grew, Ben's vocals improved a lot and his lyrics continue to improve as well, despite the fact the themes are sometimes too covered. It's the art of writing that I'm talking about.
I'm gonna make this my first review. It's not just an album that I know well, it's also my favorite band.
Excelent work!

@PickleVai: That is a scan of Ben's brain.
@TheIndomitable Spirit: I can respect that opinion. At least you didn't say Saturate. I have a preference for this album, but Phobia is superior in some ways. It does have more variety.

It has more variety, but i find the overall content much weaker than on Phobia. Also, Saturate isn't their best, but it's still great, despite Burnley's slightly overbearing vocals.

Actually I meant that Phobia had more variety. And Saturate wasn't bad at all for a debut album, there were some good moments in there. Ben has improved incredibly vocally since then.

So what in your opinion is the best song on here? Just curious.

The only song i really go back and find myself listening to is "Crawl"

That one seems to be a favorite for a lot of people. It's interesting, the ones that I see get most praised from this album tend to be my least favorites.

Album Rating: 4.5
Tbqh, the whole record fails for me to do anything like their past albums, but i guess "Crawl" would be a favorite besides "I Will Not Bow". Every single other Breaking Benjamin song on previous albums crushes those two however.

I think a lot of Saturate sucked. I prefer just about everything on this album to most songs on Saturate, with the exception of maybe Polyamorous.
And @DarkShowstopper, yay! Somebody that agrees with me on this review!

I really love Phobia and I want to try this, what would you guys rate it in comparison? (I found We Are Not Alone boring, aside from SO Cold)
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
If you didn't like We Are Not Alone too much, and loved Phobia, I think you would enjoy this. It's a little heavier than Phobia. It has a bit less variety, but Ben's vocals have gotten really good, even better than Phobia. I have both Phobia and this rated at a 4.

i agree with spirit on the rating :
Phobia/WANA > the rest.
But its still a decent album.
it could've been WAY worse is another way to put it.
