A classic, no doubt about it. The real challenge is to accept the production, but that never was a real problem for me. I realized that the production is perfect for this record. This is how BM should sound.

on vinyl you can really hear the bass. if this album was a forest the bass would be a deer quietly grazing while all around the woods are on fuckin fire.  beautiful.

Just listened to this on spotify and the production isn't half as bad as i expected, after what people keep telling me i was expecting to not hear anything but a wall of distortion but to be honest i found this quite listenablle to be honest. The riffs are just so good and i think the production complements the album perfectly. Raiding amazon for this as soon as i can afford it!!!!

That's definitely true. If the album had good production it wouldn't be as amazing as it is. And yeah the riffs on this album are some of the best that I've heard on a black metal album.

Yeah exactly. When I first heard this I was completely turned off by the production, but then as I got more and more into the genre I came back to this album and it blew me away.
