Just relistened to this and the production really isnt that bad.
You can hear the guitar riffs, the vocals are clear enough, the bass is very audible and so are the drums. All the production does is add the extra fuzz that makes the album so atmospheric.

All the talk about this album got me to listening to it for the first time in a while and I'm really glad I am. Listening to this again is reminding me why it's one of the best black metal albums ever made.

I just find this album to be perfect in every way. The riffs, the production, the vocals, it's just all perfect for me. And I don't know if I like this or Bergtatt better, but I think we both agree both albums are definitely essential for anyone who likes black metal.

I'm trying to get into this but the production is seriously brutal on my ears. The black metal that I managed to hear under all the buzzsaw is good though.
