That albus guy is a tool, i may be a fanboy but i can still tell when i hate or love an album. My favourite band is Opeth, but that didn't stop me from giving their latest album "Watershed" a 3.5. With Feathergun i didn't feel any disappointment from the album and it's been a while since that has happened. I love Feathergun but i don't care if someone gives it a low score, as long as it's not just to balance out the high ratings from "Fanboys"... that's bullshit.

Get the first one for sure, I'm actually thinking of bumping it to a 4.5 and Eidolon to a 4, since the first is more re-playable. Feels a lot more tool-like and he basically sounds exactly like maynard at times, But it doesn't bother me.
At least find a way to listen to Harlequin.

Doesn't matter, I think this is fantastic and don't really seem any problems with it, definitely the third best album of the year for me. I say let the ignorant do as they choose and laugh it off.

I'm going to have to go with Eidolon Alpha, El Empe and Fames.

Listening now. Also, I am really not big on Tool at all, so I hate trying to view them in the same light.

What are the first and second albums of the year for you?
|
| |
Mono- Hymn to the Immortal Wind was first, and Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate)- What Tt Takes To Move Forward was second, and this seems like it will retain the third spot.

Seven are pretty awesome, They're meshuggah with some electronics and clean vocals. I recommend them if that even mildly interests you. I should really fix that review that I wrote for that album though, It makes it sound pretty boring.

Oh yeah DMST just edged out Mono this year for me for softer post-rock while Maybeshewill and Russian Circles were pretty close for heavier post-rock.

Have you heard of Explosions in the Sky? They are simliar to Mono.
|

Yeah, they're what got me into the post-rock genre. Mono are better though, I assure you.
